FAQ · before you book

Questions, answered.

The things people ask before getting an electrician in — from who turns up to what paperwork you'll get. If yours isn't here, just call.

01Who exactly will turn up at my home?

A small team means you deal with the same faces. Jobs are handled by Luke, Dan or field engineer Chris — the names you'll see in our Google reviews. We'll let you know who's coming and roughly when.

02Which areas do you cover?

Our core patch is Chichester, Littlehampton, Worthing and Portsmouth. For larger projects we travel wider across West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent and South London. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just ask.

03Are you qualified and registered?

Yes. Swift Electrical is a NAPIT Approved Electrician and a CAT Approved Member, and we're also listed and reviewed on Checkatrade. That means our work is assessed against the current wiring regulations and we can self-certify notifiable work.

04How quickly can you come out?

For quotes and planned work we aim to get back to you promptly and book you in as soon as we can — reviewers mention how quickly we respond. For genuine emergencies we run a 24-hour call-out across West Sussex.

05Do you charge for a quote?

No. We'll look at what's involved and give you a clear price before any work starts. Sending a photo of the job or fault by email is often the quickest way to get a rough idea.

06Can you handle both domestic and commercial work?

Yes — homes, landlords, shops, offices and factories alike, single and three phase. We carry out commercial testing and certification for offices, factories and shops as well as everyday domestic work.

07What is an EICR and do I need one?

An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a formal inspection of a property's fixed wiring. Landlords in England need a valid EICR at least every five years, and commercial premises are often required to hold one too. We carry out EICRs and issue the report on completion.

08Do you install EV chargers and smart home kit?

Yes. We install EV / vehicle charging points, smart thermostats and appliances, CCTV and security cameras, audio-visual set-ups and data / Wi-Fi networks — the connected side of a modern home or workplace, all wired and certified properly.

09Will I get paperwork for the work?

Yes. Depending on the job you'll receive the appropriate certificate — an EICR report, a minor works certificate or an installation certificate — so you have documented proof the work meets the regulations.

10How do I pay?

We'll agree the price up front and payment is typically taken on completion of the work. Get in touch and we'll confirm the details for your job.
